Senior Backend Developer (f/m/d)

As a Senior Backend Developer at SHC, you take ownership of the systems that power our products — designing scalable, secure, and maintainable services that create real value for our users, customers, and partners. Working in a cross-functional team, you collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to turn ideas into robust, impactful solutions.

Technical Ownership: You own and evolve core backend systems — from designing new features to improving scalability and performance. Experience: Several years of hands-on experience building and running complex production systems (e.g. multi-tenant, SOA, microservices).

Technology Stack: Strong background in the JVM ecosystem (Java, Kotlin, etc.); experience with PHP/Laravel is a plus, as parts of our backend are still being migrated to a Kotlin-based architecture.

Backend Expertise: Confident working with IoC frameworks (e.g. Ktor, Spring Boot) and relational databases including ORM (Hibernate, Exposed, etc.); experience with queuing systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.) is a plus.

Coding Practices: Your code is well-tested (TDD), clean (Sonar, etc.), and production-ready (#6MinutesToProduction).

Team Skills: Comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with non-technical colleagues.

Leadership: Experienced in technical mentoring, guiding discussions, and driving architecture or implementation decisions.

Remote Work: We work primarily remotely and meet once per quarter for a week of in-person collaboration. Occasional travel is therefore required.
